Primary Care

Patients sometimes ask me (Dr. Steve Cavanaugh) if I can be their primary physician. While I am trained in family practice I no longer see patients as their primary doctor. Also some patients I see need someone to work with them in detail in regards to diet, homeopathics, supplements and medical management. I call this the “chemical” side of the treatment. While I address some of these issues, it is not my focus.

I am pleased to announce that we now have a Naturopathic Physician, Arika Dortero, in the office who can see patients as a primary physician. Arika graduated from Bastyr University, did internship with Molly Linton, and now is offering her services at our location. She holds certification as a Certified Lactation Educator and as an International Board Certified Lactation consultant.

Arika is a caring physician who offers comprehensive Naturopathic medical treatment including homeopathics, supplements, dietary advice, and management of food allergies. She works with patients from a holistic perspective to facilitate improved health. In particular she has a focuses on lactation support, pediatrics, and comprehensive women’s health.

We are happy to have Arika working here in the office and hope she can be of service to you and your families. Here is her website so you can learn more: http://wfnmseattle.com/
